Falls Bay 3
LLANDYBIE travelled to South Gower to play Falls Bay. The home team had a very heavy pack, which gave Llandybie some early problems.
Llandybie took the lead after 10 minutes with a Ben Featherstone penalty. A brilliant step and break from Johnny Harris created the space to put Dafydd Nicholas over in the corner, Featherstone adding the points.
Andrew Thomas was winning ball in the lineouts and getting the Llandybie back row of Rhydian Jones and Lyndon Davies over the gain line. A fine tackle by Dan Wigley forced a turnover, and a good break by Tom Griffith put Nicholas in again. Soon after fine work by the pack gave Tom Griffith the room to score in the corner, converted by Featherstone.
The Llandybie forwards were getting on top of their heavier opponents, moving them around the field. Good breaks by Harris and Gareth Jones in midfield kept up the forward momentum.
Fine tackling by hooker Rhys Cann gave the backs possession again and Luke Yelland put in a great cross - field kick for Featherstone to score in the left-hand corner, also adding the points with a touch line conversion. Half- time 0-29.
In the second half early pressure by Falls gave them a penalty, which was converted by Nathan Hughes.
Good forward driving by the pack sucked in the Falls Bay cover and the ball put through hands for full back Johnny Lloyd to score with Featherstone adding the points with another good kick.
Falls Bay struck back, almost scoring, but Yelland and Griffith got back to hold the forward up over the line.
From the scrum Cann took one against the head to relieve the pressure. More good movement from the visitors’ pack spreading the ball wide with lock Wigley handing on for Lloyd to score his second, with deadeye Feath - erstone adding the points to complete the scoring
