Cwm Wanderers FC of the Neath and District league are making preparations for life at their new ground at Parc Afon Twrch, Lower Cwmtwrch.

The club were forced to relocate after their old ground at Brynderi became part of the new Ystradgynlais primary school project.

Due to unforeseen problems with the construction of the new playing field, last season Cwm were forced to play their home fixtures at Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera, but have been assured that the field will be ready for use at the start of the coming season.

The new clubhouse and changing rooms have been in use for the past year, and the club have been patiently awaiting the completion of the new pitch.

The club are looking forward to the 2013/14 season under the guidance of new chairman Kerry Williams, who has reinforced the clubs commitment to the local community by encouraging the recruitment of new junior teams.

This coming season Cwm will field four junior teams between the ages of six and ten, a youth team, between the ages of 16 and 18, with hopefully the formation of an under 11s team, as well as the clubs senior teams who play in Division One of the Neath league and reserve team who play in Reserve Division One.

There are also hopes of forming a veterans team to play friendly fixtures during the season.

The senior teams have already begun training on a Tuesday and Thursday night at 6.15pm at Maesydderwen school field, under the supervision of first team manager, ex Swansea and Cardiff city player Morrys Scott. Morrys is looking to strengthen the senior teams for the coming season and can be contacted on 07968094165.

Any senior players wishing to join the club new or old are free to attend training or contact Morrys with your details.
