Towy ABC brought the curtain down on their season with a bang as the club hosted their annual dinner show and presentation night at the Amman Centre.

The fayre on offer, both in terms of the dinner provided and the boxing on display, were of a very high standard.

Once again the main focus of the show was the Robert Dickie Memorial Cup which saw fights from north and west Wales showing their prowess. West Wales were the current cup holders, but on this occasion the honours - and the cup - headed north.

Towy had four fantastic wins on the night with Jake Anthony seeing off Cassius Phellps of Llanrumney thanks to a fantastic display of boxing. Anthony - the Mighty Atom - claimed the title of Boxer of the Night thanks to his all action display.

Spencer Thomas had another convincing win when he beat Karl Thomas of Barmouth while Phil Jones produced his best boxing display of the season in beating Abie Reynolds of Cardigan.

Jay McAndrew ended the evening in his usual style, knocking out Phillip Price of Tredegar with a third round power blast.

But it was not all plain sailing for the host club and Towy endured two losses.

Newcomers Charlie Hall lost out to Tom Morris of Cardigan while Rob Douglas was outdone by Barmouth fighter John Evans.

Also on show was Towy's Nidjat Milles who took part in an exhibition against Dean Roberts of Barmouth. Both men put in a crowd-pleasing performance thanks to their excellent boxing skills.

The evening ended with main trophies being presented to the Towy boxers.

Boxer of the Year: Spencer Thomas Most Improved Boxer: Jake Anthony Sportsman of the Year: Phil Jones.

Towy ABC would like to thank all the club sponsors and supporters for their continued support. Without their backing these fantastic shows would not be possible.

On Friday, June 14, Anthony travelled Cardiff for a return bout against Phellps at the RAFA Club in Cardiff's Riverside.

The Towy youngster put on a supreme display and comfortably out-boxed the home fighter to come away a clear winner.
