Carmarthenshire Football League Reserve Division Three

AMMANFORD climbed to the top of Reserve Division Three after putting Seaside to the sword to record an eighth straight league win.

The victory moves them a point clear of Ponthenri with a game in hand and a far superior goal difference to their nearest challengers.

Fourth-placed Seaside were never likely to prove an easy task, but Ammanford displayed all the qualities of champions in waiting.

The deadlock was broken after 20 minutes when neat passing between Dan Quick and Jake Webb released Quick to slot home.

The visitors doubled their lead ten minutes later when a long ball from Ian Rees enabled Quick to race through and fire home from long range.

The hosts hit back when Ammanford failed to clear t and the teams went into the interval with just one goal separating them.

Ammanford’s defence of Jack Conway, Lloyd Bevan and Scott Vobe proved solid throughout the opening period and their concentration continued after the break until Seaside claim a debatable penalty to level.

Ammanford ’keeper Darren Warnes stood up well to Seaside’s physical tactics as the hosts piled on late pressure while the Ammanford central pairing of Kyle Wells and Gavin Thomas dominated in midfield, spreading play to the flanks to relieve the pressure on their back line.

The tactic proved key as Webb fired home from the left wing to give Ammanford breathing space before a great goal from the impressive Kinsey sealed the win.

Victory took Ammanford to the top of the table for the first time this season. They host CK Swiss Valley on Saturday.
