Welsh League Division Two

AMMANFORD were aware only a top performance would get anything from their encounter against high-flying Ferry, who are challenging for one of the promotion places.

Goalkeeper Jamie Rano was at his best when forced to pull off a goal-saving block tackle on five minutes and concede a corner.

On ten minutes Ammanford forced two corners of their own and with a quarter of an hour played a three-man move from halfway sawMatthewFisher get the final touch for a goal.

On 35 minutes Ammanford created another chance when a through ball to Ross Jones forced the home ’keeper to pull off a fine save but Ferry equalised on 35 minutes from close range.

Ammanford replied with a chance falling to Rhys Fisher who had a header well saved.

The half ended very much in Ammanford’s favour with a Ben Soal long-range effort flashing inches over.

The visitors came out for the second half on the attack with MatthewFisher creating a chance for himself when he drew the ’keeper off his line, but he was forced to shoot from an acute angle across goal.

Then it was Ammanford’s turn to defend and it took three quality saves from Rano to give them a share of the points in a match that was a fair result to both sides.

The point keeps Ammanford in second place.
