PANTY’S young guns were fairly beaten by theirmoreexperienced visitors, on a pitch that held up well thanks to thenewly-installed undersoil heating system.

Betws started brightly and used their bigger pack to good effect, driving at Panty time and again.

Richard Griffiths popped over a penalty after more good pack work from Betws, only for Panty’s Rob Davies to win a kickand- chase from70m.

Back came Betws again and that man Griffiths jinked his way over from 20m to roll back the years.

Panty started the second half far better than the first and battled in vain to narrow the difference, but some excellent Betws defending kept them at bay.

Betws grabbed a third score from a penalty try after Cellan Davies took a tumble, to wrap up the game.

Panty scored a late consolation fromsubstitute JulianDavies but the Seren yGemwas reserved for home hooker CarlWoodford.
