ONLY Dafydd Lewis’ frame saved a total rout for Ammanford’s Snooker World, beaten 6-1 on their trip to Matchroom A (Paul Thomas, 51 break) in the Llanelli and District Snooker League first division.
Elsewhere, Rob Hughes’ 51 was the highlight of Morfa’s 5-2 win at Llandybie Social A where Peter Howatson and Roger Morgan offered some home resistance.
Llanesco B claimed a fine 5-2 victory on their trip to Pontarddulais Cons A (A Pritchard 47 break, Andrew Morgan 27 clearance); Simon Williams and Anthony Lewis struck for Bont.
In a busy week, Pont Cons A also defeated Llandybie RFC 5-2in a rearranged fixture, with Kyle Steins, Steve Doughton, Paul Doughton and Anthony Lewis winning.
Meanwhile, Adam Griffiths, Danny Carr and Dai Gabe edged Pontarddulais Workmens’ to a 4-3 aggregate victory against Penygroes RFC. Jeff Jones, Chris Waters and Mark Walters won for the latter.
Matthew Stevens, Frank Ellis and Andrew John helped Gorseinon Workmens’ A see off local rivals New Lodge A 5-2 while holders Burry Port Legion Whites (J Ellis 48 break, A Hopkins 43) defeated Matchroom B 5-2. Another Burry Port side, Reading Room Blues, sealed a 5-2 success against Llandybie RFC, whose winning pair were Anthony Krysa and Dylan Jones.
In Division Two, Darryl Treharne, Kieran Evans, Kevin Sellwood and Emyr Bowen gave Pontyberem Workmens’ a 5-2 win against Llanelli Cons A, who replied through Lee Evans and Stuart Goddard.
Carwyn Cue, Ceri Rees, Ian Tinnuche, Joe Evans and Nicky Walters earned Upper Tumble Blues a convincing 6- 1 victory over Garnant Club while Llanelli Cons B posted an useful 6-1 win against Carway B.
Mike Davies, Geoff Jones, Martin Davies and Tom Lewis were on winning form for Tycroes RFC A, who ran out 5-2 victors against Burry Port Reading Room Reds.
Meanwhile Electricity B suffered a 6-1 defeat to Cross Hands B.
Wins from Gareth Jones, M James and A Pritchard edged Cross Hands A to a narrow 4-3 success against Electricity C while Carway A saw off Bryn and Trallwm 6- 1.
In Division Three, Cross Hands C required the “aggregate”
point to inflict a 4-3 defeat on to Calsonic Rivals.
In the big Bont derby, Pontarddulais Cons C were 5- 2 winners against Pontarddulais Cons B.
