IN THE First Division’s Llandybie derby, the Rugby Club claimed the bragging rights after edging an aggregate 4-3 win against Llandybie Social, thanks to Anthony Krysa, Richard Davies and Dylan Jones. WynMajor, Peter Howatson and Clive Jones replied.
Penygroes RFC claimed a fine 6-1 victory against New LodgeBfollowing wins byPaul Garritty, Chris Waters, Paul Crippin, Jeff Jones and Nigel Beynon. Only Lyn Howard’s win saved the whitewash.
Keri Davies, Dai Gabe and Danny Carr earned Pontarddulais Workmens’ a narrow 4-3 success at Llanesco B while LegionWhites won 4-3 at Snooker World. For the Ammanford side, Richard Jones, Dai Luce and Mike Woods came out on top.
Matthew Stevens, A Cash, Byron Evans and Keith Williams gave Gorseinon Workmens’ A a 5-2 victory over Reading Room Blues while Morfacameout on top in theirownneighbourly dispute.
Elsewhere, Matchroom B shaded a 4-3 victory against Pontarddulais Cons A. Simon Williams, Anthony Lewis and Gwyn Williams struck for Bont.
In Division Two the Nigels, Powney and Jones, won for Clwb Godre’r Mynydd Du, Glanamman, in a 5-2 defeat at Burry Port Reading Room Reds.
Electric B edged a 4-3 win at Bryn while Stuart Goddard made a 53 break for Llanelli Cons A in a tight 4-3 victory against Carway A.
Pontyberem Workmens’ took just one frame, via Alun Harris, in losing 5-2 at Garnant Club. Keith Davies, Paul Davies, Lyn Hopkin and Chris Rees won for Garnant.
Elsewhere, ElectricCnicked an aggregate 4-3 win against Llanelli Cons B.
In the Third Division, Llanesco A suffered their first defeat of the season when they went down 5-2 at Pontarddulais Cons B. Alan Hiddlestone, Robert Davey, Jamie Bishop and Hugh Williams won for the home side.
Meanwhile, Craig Chandler, Craig Howells, Mark Regola andJeffBrowngave Ponthenri Social a 5-2 success over Llandeilo Hall. Richard Friend andAdamChallis replied.
Brian Jones, Gary Stead, Jeff Howells, Jimmy Thomas and Gary Joshua all won for Cross Hands C in the 6-1 triumph over Legion Reds.
Steve Evans, Julian Williams, Kristian Rees, Dai Mayhew and Tom Carey gave Pont Cons C a 6-1 victory at Tycroes RFC B whose only frame winner was Liam Davies.
Upper Tumble Reds defeated village rivals Great Mountain Workmens’ 5-2 thanks to the efforts of D Woods, Tony Rees, J Bradley and Ryan Rumbelow whereas Elton Rees and Wyn Stevens replied.
Mike Davies, Cliff Wilcox and Jordan Davies edged Gorseinon B to a 4-3 aggregate win at Llandybie Social B. For the latter,David Sheppard,Roy Price and James Hagley were on winning duty.
In the Worthington Cup, Third Division Pont Cons B took a notable scalp when they knocked out Division One’s Snooker World 4-3 thanks to wins by R Davey, H Williams and Adrian Thomas. Josh Jordan, Dafydd Lewis and Lee Holland won for the Ammanford men.
