Neath and District Football League Reserve Division Three
AFTER throwing away a 3-1 advantage the previous week, Bryn made changes for the trip to table-topping Briton Ferry.
Arwel Davies returned in goal after a pre-season injury while defenders Jason Williams and Shaun Phillips also returned to bolster the back three while Shane Rosser and Chris Watts took on the wing-back roles and 16-year-old Dan Griffiths enjoyed an impressive debut in central midfield.
Ferry started the brighter and went ahead after ten minutes, but Bryn responded positively with Steffan Conibeer forcing a fine save and Adam Campbell then going close before Chris Watts had two attempts at an open goal, but fluffed both.
Bryn’s search for an equaliser seemed to have ended with 20 minutes remaining when Adam Campbell was tripped in the box. The youngster dusted himself off only to see his fierce penalty go over the bar.
Undeterred Bryn continued probing and sub Aeron Williams cleverly turned his man before rifling in an equaliser.
Bryn nowwent looking for a winner, but with two minutes left Ferry countered and their front man powered a header against the bar and over the line to earn the hosts all three points.
