BANC travelled to one of Welsh rugby’s sleeping giants looking to retain their position at the top of the league and flew out of the blocks to put heavy pressure on the homesters.
It wasn’t long before a trademark Geraint Evans outside break allowed full back Carwyn Richards to go over.
The outstanding Nathan Jenkins was next to score after good work from Matthew Brayley and skipper Adrian Pugh was the recipient of the next touchdown when he was on hand to score between the posts.
Jenkins scored his second try from a scintillating Brayley pass.
Young tight head Rhodri Jones was having a storming afternoon before picking up a knock and looks a great prospect while veteran Paul Caines put himself about in his usual fashion!
As the second half kicked off, Brayley added his name to the scoresheet after a superb break from No8 Chris Jones, who had a solid afternoon.
Ystrad managed to pull a score back after a Banc mistake but never really looked like threatening.
Another Jones break saw centre Evans outstrip the covering defence for a fine corner try before heavy pressure from the Banc forwards on the home line resulted in a penalty try.
Another fumble in the Banc 22 gave the home hooker an easy run-in before a turnover from the kick-off and yet another Jones break gave industrious flanker Mike Tench a deserved try.
Brayley punched through a midfield hole and sprinted home from halfway before Richards claimed his second.
With minutes to go, hard working wing Andy McCall ran the length of the field for his first try for the club.
Next week all roads lead to Penybanc for the much anticipated cup-tie against Betws.
