A SWANSEA Valley man denied a charge of assault when he appeared before Neath magistrates. Gareth John Shell, aged 37, of the New Swan Hotel, Ystalyfera, is charged with assaulting Andrew Rhys Davies in Commercial Street, Ystalyfera, on November 8. Shell was remanded on conditional bail until he faces trial on March 8.
