On Tuesday, December 10 we had our monthly meeting at the hall in Llangadog, where we were entertained by pupils of Llangadog Primary school. They sang Christmas carols and excerpts from their Christmas concert. They were a joy to watch and everyone had a wonderful time. At the end they were treated to

some lovely refreshments.

Raffle winners were: Gwyneth Southgate, Jane Pritchard, Megan Evans, Joan Page, Gwen Ford, June Cooke, Joan Jones, Eileen Morgan, Vera Williams, Trevor Cooke, Hilda Roderick and Gill Thomas.

Our next meeting will be on January 7, when we will be visiting the Grand Theatre, Swansea to see the Pantomime Peter Pan.

Llangadog OAP Association will be getting together for a festive celebration thanks to a gift from a national charity.

Mrs Ray Jones (treasurer) from the Llangadog OAP Association says; ‘’We’re so pleased to receive this generous grant from Age Cymru. This gives us the opportunity to hold a fun-filled day for older people in Llangadog who might otherwise miss out the Christmas spirit.’’

Age Cymru is joining forces with older people’s groups across Wales to help combat loneliness during the winter months.

Victoria Lloyd, Age Cymru’s Director of Influencing and Programme Development says;

‘’Were pleased to give Llangadog OAP Association this gift through the Spread the Warmth campaign, to combat loneliness during the cold winter months.’
