The group met on November 3 at St John Ambulance hall, Llandeilo. The speaker for the evening was Susan Augustus, Holistic Therapist, who gave a well researched talk on Reflexology as a complimentary alternative therapy. Jean Thomas, Bryn Awellon, Llanwrda, volunteered to take part in a demonstration as Mrs Augustus explained the techniques used on feet to stimulate and restore ‘balance and well-being’ to the body. The Chairperson, Mrs Diane Rocca, then gave a brief summary of a Macmillan Cancer Day Conference. Three members attended and were most impressed by the work Macmillan Cancer Care undertakes to guide voluntary groups and ensure their opinions are heard. The conference delegates agreed that counselling for all affected by cancer was important and Macmillan said they would carry this concern through to the Assembly for validation. Christmas dinner will be held at the Goose and Cuckoo on December 1.
