Llandeilo Chamber of Trade celebrated its first year with a red carpet fundraising event at The Cawdor hotel on Thursday, October 9. Over 120 people attended the evening helping to raise money for a number of charities including the Alzheimer's Society and the forthcoming Llandeilo Christmas Festival of Senses.

Local celebrity Eleanor Jones, president of the Christmas Festival, selected the Alzheimer's Society for which the evening raised £2,000. A further £540 was raised for the Alex Lock Trust.

Since becoming established, the chamber has united the shops and businesses of the town and was proud to boast several successful events throughout the year including the town's first Christmas Festival of Senses. After much demand the festival is back again this year and looks to be packed full of even more exciting events. Between Tuesday 18th and Saturday 22nd November you will be able to tantalize each of your senses with a choice of over 100 events.

Tasting sessions will be held all over town, from excellent deli produce to delicious chocolates, cakes and cooking demonstrations. There'll be lingerie events, antiques valuations and Christmas card painting classes.

Not only that keep an eye out for wandering minstrels and carol singing alongside the 'Best of Carmarthenshire Food Market' on the Saturday.

The Santa's grotto at St. Teilo's church will be sure to entertain the children where they will be having bell ringing and caroling along with stalls selling lots of Christmas goodies. They can write a letter to Santa and get it posted right there in town at Eve's Toy Shop.

For the more discerning forget the last-minute mayhem and try a civilized approach to Christmas shopping this year with the town's late night shopping evening on the Friday until 8pm.
