COMMONSENSE has prevailed with residents organising Cwmaman Fun Day cheered by the news they will receive £1,500 from the carnival committee.
As we have reported, the community will effectively have two carnivals within a week following a dispute with Carmarthenshire County Council over the site of the event.
While such a situation may seem slightly comic – a bit like the plot of an old episode of Dad’s Army or Last Of The Summer Wine – villagers on both sides clearly feel very strongly about the issue.
So it is heartening to learn there is talk of combining both events into one big jamboree in 2015.
As Cllr Kevin Madge says, it’s all about the community pulling together.
