BETWS COMMUNITY COUNCIL – Our annual Remembrance service will be held on Monday, November 11 at 10.45am in Betws park. Everybody is welcome to attend.

BETWS IN NEED PUMPKIN GROWING COMPETITION - Last Friday night saw keen competition at the Betws in Need pumpkin weigh-in. The marquee at the Coopers, Betws saw 20 fine specimens challenging for the cup, challenge shield and prize money. After a tense weigh-in the winner at 61 lbs was Mr Haydn Harris of Garnswllt, second at 54 lbs was last year's winner Mr Emyr Davies, also of Garnswllt, and third at 48 lbs was J.D. of Morriston.

In addition to the trophies a cheque for £61 was also presented to the winner. Llongyfarchiadau Mr Harris.

Betws in Need would like to thank everyone who contributed to a successful and enjoyable evening and to everyone who took part in the competition.

Pumpkin plants will be on sale again next Spring so give your names now to any Betws in Need member to ensure you're part of the competition.
