Plaid AM for Mid and West Wales Nerys Evans has urged Conservative leader David Cameron to support a move to devolve any laws on hunting in Wales to the National Assembly for Wales.
The Carmarthen-based AM made the calls following comments made by Mr Cameron that he will allow a free vote on reversing the hunting ban under a Tory government.
"Before David Cameron makes any more announcements on any future debate on reversing the hunting ban I would urge him to support the calls to devolve any decisions to be made on hunting in Wales to the National Assembly," said Ms Evans.
" It's important that any decision on this issue should be made here in Wales to reflect the views of the people of Wales.
" It's us here in Wales who are best placed to take Wales' topographic, economic, social and cultural issues into consideration when addressing this important matter."
