JAMES Bond fans in Worcester are in for a treat this week as Foregate Street does its best Leicester Square impression.

The Odeon cinema will be screening new Bond film Skyfall on Thursday night, one day before its general release.

The charity black-tie event has been organised to raise money for the Prince’s Trust.

Guests on the evening will enjoy a champagne and canapé reception, as well as some Bond-related surprises.

Worcestershire-based Scott Farms International, the UK’s major importer of sweet potatoes, is sponsoring the premiere.

Chief executive Stan Smith said: “The Prince’s Trust is an amazing charity which supports and develops so many young people across Worcestershire.

“The Bond premiere will be a great evening and we hope as many people as possible will attend and raise money for an inspiring cause. We are delighted to be involved and playing our part.”

The release of Skyfall marks the 23rd appearance of 007 and coincides with the 50th anniversary of the franchise, which began with Dr No in 1962.

Viv Hudson-Findlay, the trust’s area chairman, said: “Securing an exclusive screening of the new Bond film here in Worcester is fantastic and it promises to be a memorable and spectacular evening.

“It’s not only an event for businesses and 007 fans to glam up but importantly it’s an event which will raise funds to help inspire and motivate more young people across the whole of Worcestershire.”

Tickets for the event cost £45 and are available by calling 01905 792811 or e-mailing viv.hudson-findlay@hotelshopuk.com
