ON Friday, December 8, at approximately 9.15am I went to the butcher and post office at Hazlemere crossroads.
On my way back, a gust of wind knocked me over. Immediately three gentlemen and the butcher came to my rescue. They gently picked me up, got my hat, bags and stick and one took me over the crossing. When I got home the warden took care of me and asked if I would like to see a doctor.
I should like all these good samaritans to know how very grateful I was for their help and concern. Maybe at 88 years I should not have been out, but we like to be as independent as we can. I felt this should be recorded as we hear of so many muggings in broad daylight, too.
A very grateful old woman
