AMERSHAM maintained their 100 per cent winning start in Division Two (West) of the Home Counties League with a 21-run victory over Tring Park at the weekend.

The Shardeloes side rattled off 197 for nine in their innings before dismissing Tring for 176 to claim their second 25 points in two weeks.

Amersham were helped to their 197 with a knock of 60 from John Atkins, but it was the impressive bowling of Mustapha Rajabali which really stole the show.

He took five wickets for just 45 runs to stun the Tring batsmen.

But Matthew Bowyer kept Amersham working hard for their win as he stubbornly made 78 only to see his side fall just over 20 runs short.

Amersham stay top of the division level on points with the chasing Oxford and Henley.

Meanwhile, Marlow claimed their first win of the campaign, to make up for the previous week's opening-day defeat.

They saw off basement side Wolverton Town by 69 runs to claim their first 25 points.

Marlow raced to 235 for five with Graham Paskins (72) and Troy Robertson (64) providing the mainstay of the inninngs.

That total proved too much for Wolverton, who have yet to win this season.

They finished 166 all out, with Marlow's Stone collecting an impressive five wickets for just 25 runs to leave them reeling.
