A TOWN centre area which was closed for environmental improvements has now been reopened to all traffic apart from buses.
Oxford Street, High Wycombe, has been closed while road and enhancement work was undertaken in the Frogmoor area.
Contractors on the £1 million enhancement scheme, Ringway Highways Services, have almost completed phase one of the scheme, which involved reconstructing Church Street and widening pavements.
Phase two of the works started on June 25, and will last for about six weeks.
This will reconstruct the west side of Frogmoor, remove trees and move the carriageway further east.
During this time the western carriageway taking traffic north will be closed and northbound traffic should travel west along Oxford Street to the roundabout and take the exit onto the A4128, Archway.
Southbound traffic is not affected and can continue to use the eastern carriageway of Frogmoor until work starts on phase three.
This third, six-week phase, will create a new pedestrian area in Frogmoor stretching from the existing open space to the Chiltern Shopping Centre.
The area will house open air cafes, trees and a fountain.
All basic work should be finished in another three months.
