SALARIES in IT sales in the Thames Valley have increased by 20 per cent over the past 12 months, according to a recruitment agency survey.
Mandeville Sales, part of the Mandeville Recruitment Group, which has its head office in Taplow, has found that the average salary for IT sales positions the agency filled in the first six months of 2001 was £32,487.
This compares to £26,147 for the same period last year.
Richard Holliday, of Mandeville Sales, said: "Although there have been cutbacks within the e-business sector, demand still remains high for successful, experienced IT sector sales people.
"The survey reflects the fact that employers are looking at the critical skills and realising they have to pay people with those higher salaries otherwise they will lose them to their competitors."
Mandeville Recruitment Group opened a new office in Manchester to meet the demand for quality technical staff, which will trade as Active Services, Manchester.
