SIR Steven Redgrave, his wife and three children are living in a caravan and a portable building after their house was demolished.
Sir Steven is busy constructing his dream home on the site of his old house but has decided to live on site while the work takes place.
The bulldozers steamed in two weeks ago, raising his modest family home in Goodwood Rise, Marlow Bottom, to the ground, to make way for a four bedroom, two-storey brick and flint house.
Sir Steven said: "It is a bit cramped but it will do for the summer. We will just have to have lots of barbecues."
The building work is expected to be finished within six months.
Sir Steven applied for planning permission in December last year, shortly after returning from Sydney with his fifth Olympic gold medal.
