A FATHER has criticised a district council for failing to repair four broken windows and a door which he claimed the local authority promised to fix.

Helal Ahmed, of Hill Street, High Wycombe, was featured in Midweek two weeks ago, when he claimed that an 'icy wind' blows through his house because a window frame is loose.

He also said that his eldest son suffers from eczema, which is not helped by damp in the house.

Wycombe District Council acknowledged there was a problem with the doors and windows and vowed to fix them by the end of the week.

But Mr Ahmed said he has still not heard from them.

He added: "The council has let me down so many times. It's really bad. The council must be good with other people but they are really bad for me. They are doing nothing good for me at all."

The 37 year-old, who has two young sons, aged one and nine, claims they are suffering from the conditions in the house.

He explained: "The house is too damp to live in and I need to move somewhere else. I have two little kids and they are continually unwell. They always have colds that keep coming and going."

A spokesman for Wycombe District Council said a new contractor had been appointment for the area but Mr Ahmed's work was with the previous one, which the council was pressing to carry out the repairs.

The spokesman added the work would now be given to another contractor.
