PREMIER Division Chesham suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Sutton on Saturday in a match where they were reduced to ten men and had to name manager Bob Dowie as one of their substitutes because they were so short of players.
Jason Court was sent off with just over ten minutes remaining to leave struggling Chesham a man down, but the game was already lost by then.
Court walked after reacting to the away supporters taunting him over a foul on their number ten Rob Haworth. The player responded with an obsence gesture and the referee quickly followed it up with a hand signal of his own, which sent Court for an early bath.
The hosts were already 2-0 down by then and mid-table Sutton made their numerical advantage count before the end by adding a third goal to wrap up the scoring.
Afterwards assistant boss Peter Lawrence said: "That was indiscipline by the player. The crowd influenced the ref and it was the turning point of the game."
