ANOTHER young man has been found dead at the bottom of the same car park where Christopher Noel's body was discovered just weeks earlier.

The 26-year-old man, from the High Wycombe area, was discovered by a passer-by on Sunday at 8.20pm lying by the Dovecot multi-storey car park.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on his body within the next few days. Police have not yet ruled out the possibility this may be a suspicious death.

Officers were called after the man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was found with severe head injuries.

The tragedy is the second in the last six weeks to have struck at the car park, in Dovecot Road, near Sainsbury's, in High Wycombe.

Student Christopher, 18, of Benjamin Road, High Wycombe, was believed to have taken his own life on May 15 by jumping off the car park. Cause of death, though, has not been confirmed because an inquest has not yet been completed.

Now Wycombe District Council is contemplating the possibility of a direct line to the Samaritans from multi-storey car parks, which have proved to be suicide blackspots.

A council spokesman said: "The police are investigating the discovery of a body found at Dovecot car park yesterday evening. There is as yet no confirmation of how the person died. However, for several years posters giving the Samaritans' phone numbers have been displayed on the top floor of all Wycombe District Council multi-storey car parks.

"The council is currently looking into the possibility of creating a direct line via an intercom or similar to The Samaritans.

"The council is also re-investigating the idea of attempting to put up some form of fencing in the multi-storey car parks in order to try and deter people from committing suicide, although this is impossible to prevent."

A spokesman for the Chiltern branch of the Samaritans welcomed the idea of a direct line from the car parks.

She said: "Anything that can get the message across that there is somewhere to turn can only be good news."
