A WORLDWIDE leader in the making of ejector seats for aircraft has won a prestigious award for its contribution to export.
Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd in Denham has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade, its ninth Queen's Award.
Martin-Baker, a family-owned British company founded in 1947, has 750 employees, the majority of whom live in South Bucks.
Since it was set up the company has manufactured more than 65,800 ejection seats for more than 187 different aircraft types worldwide. More than 80 per cent of sales are for export.
A company spokesman said: "We have over 13,000 visitors to our Denham-based site every year, a large proportion of whom are from overseas. These visitors are normally accommodated locally thereby bringing further business revenue to the area and placing Bucks on the international map."
