A WEB designer helped a war veteran fulfil a lifelong dream when she took him to the Korean War Memorial in Washington.
Nuala Orton, of Ronald Road, Beaconsfield, met Bob Moy, 81, a Chelsea pensioner, at an army reception.
She said: "When I met him, he said he wanted to go to Washington and see the Korean War Memorial as he had served in Korea during his 24-year army career."
Mrs Orton said the British Embassy was fantastic. They organised VIP tours of the White House, the Holocaust Museum and the Senate.
They even laid on a staff car with diplomatic plates.
At the memorial itself, Mr Moy was met by two US Army majors and a colonel from the Korean Embassy who presented him with a certificate of appreciation, signed by the US Secretary of Defense.
Mr Moy, of London, said he had enjoyed the trip a lot.
He added: "I had a marvellous time. The highlight was on the Monday when I went to the war memorial.
"It was interesting to meet the US Army officers but they all had more medals than me."
