IF you ever want to see Wycombe's very own Loch Ness monster again you'd better start reaching for your wallets.

Pub manager Andy Dickinson has promised to recreate the popular serpent in a field in West Wycombe if £500 is raised for Friday's Comic Relief appeal.

Andy, manager of the George and Dragon Hotel in West Wycombe, first put up the monster as a prank more than two weeks ago but now he is pledging to do it all again with the launch of his Buy Back Wessie appeal.

He said: "If enough money is raised for Comic Relief then Wessie will be brought from his hiding place and will reappear back into the public eye."

Colin and Mary Marshall, who run West Wycombe Village Store, High Street, have agreed to receive donations of money at their shop.

Colin said: "We will be delighted to collect and accept money over the counter.

"Andy has done a brilliant job and we'd love to help out too."

Donations can be handed in at the village store or posted to: Buy Back Wessie Appeal, West Wycombe Village Store, 50 High Street, West Wycombe
