MUSIC therapist Jessica Atkinson is so keen to get a new piano for patients at a day hospice that she has taken to busking to raise money for it.
Jessica, a part-time therapist at the South Bucks Day Hospice in High Wycombe, has been playing music to the shoppers in High Wycombe.
She said: "Music therapy offers patients and those bereaved, a chance to improvise music.
"Patients with neurological damage find their music is coherent and meaningful at a time when their words often do not make sense."
Jessica has been working a the hospice for more than a year and the results she has achieved with the patients has been beneficial.
The trustees of The South Bucks Day Hospice say they feel that Jessica's amazing capabilities are turning the hospice into a centre of excellence in terms of music therapy.
