CHURCHES across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire are being asked to take racial justice as the theme of services next month.

Places of worship in the three counties will be holding the services as part of Racial Justice Sunday on September 9.

In a leaflet called One Race The Human Race, the Churches' Commission for Racial Justice calls on churches to raise awareness of each others cultures and experiences, understand the human feelings of people from different cultures and tackle particular issues of structural injustice in their community.

Racial Justice Sunday packs are available to churches from the Churches' Commission for Racial Justice, for £2.

The Diocese of Oxford will hold its own Racial Justice service at 5pm on September 2 at St Andrew's Methodist Church, The Grove, Slough.
