HIGH Wycombe Hockey Club finally found their form as they travelled to bottom of the table Wokingham and romped to an 8-0 victory.
Wycombe took time to get into their stride despite taking the lead after 11 minutes when skipper Dominic Day released Duncan Parniss who crossed for Dan Strange to shoot home.
Wycombe then proceeded to waste good possession and it was not until just before half time that they extended their lead through Paul Wallis.
His strike signalled a goal rush in the remaining minutes of the first half as first Strange, and then Parniss, found the net.
The second half proved to be a carbon copy. After 15 minutes Andy Burroughs
fired home a corner but the lead was not stretched further until the last five minutes of the game when firstly Strange completed his hat trick and then Dave Ansdell got in on the act with two late goals.
Despite this result, Wycombe's fate hangs in the balance and they will have to
wait until after the National League play-offs at the end of April before knowing if they will retain their place in Division One or be relegated to Premier Division Two.
