US MARINES, firefighters, police officers and air ambulance crews will be among the heroes giving lucky youngsters a taste of the action.

Hundreds of Scouts and Guides from across the South East will be joined by servicemen and women at The Chalfont Heights Scout Camp, Chalfont St Peter, on Sunday.

US Marines will show off their weapons and camouflage skills and paramedics from the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Service will pay a flying visit literally.

Firefighters from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue are also set to attend with two fire engines. Youngsters will be able test sirens on a police motorcycle and try on the Thames Valley Police uniform for size.

The day has been organised to raise young people's awareness of what the emergency services do.
