FURTHER to the item in last week's Midweek letters about Arriva's bad bus service on the Heathrow route, my bad experience with them is as follows.

On Saturday, February 17 I waited with a friend and many other would-be passengers in Watford High Street for the 1.30pm bus to Amersham which did not run.

We waited in the pouring rain until 2.45pm. When I rang Arriva's head office they promised to look into it.

After some time I rang back when I hadn't heard and I was told they were behind with their complaints procedures (not surprising!) but on looking up my case they informed me the reason was that the bus stop had been relocated further along the High Street some months ago.

On assuring them that I knew this, and had been at the relocated bus top, I was told a new complaints form would have to be done. Since then there has been a deafening silence.

Use public transport? I know my car won't be staying in the garage in future!
