A PUPPY that was run over and left to die is making a full recovery and is looking for a loving home.

The cute canine, who has been named Nicky, is now on the mend after suffering a fractured pelvis.

Nicky was discovered by a pedestrian who rescued him from bushes along the A40 and called The Blue Cross animal charity, in Chalfont St Peter, for help.

Anne Rowan, manager of The Blue Cross, said: "He would have died as a result of his injuries as he was unable to move and needed extensive veterinary treatment."

She described the puppy as "a dear little soul" but said he was not suitable to be placed with other snall pets, such as gerbils or hamsters.
