THAME United Football Club lost 4-0 at home to Staines and lost their position at the top of the Ryman first division table on Saturday.
Bedford Town took advantage of wobbling United's latest slip and have now taken pole position instead.
United were 2-0 down at half time and suffered an equally disappointing second half against their mid-table visitors.
Thame have now taken just two points out of the last 24 on offer and have seen their 13-point lead at the top of the table chopped away.
Bedford have now gone to the summit on goal difference and they have two games in hand on Andy Sinnott's men.
