NIKKI Campbell will be swapping her comfortable Marlow surroundings to travel to war ravaged Sarajevo in an effort to help orphans and victims of torture with her new therapy.

Nikki, is one of just two fully qualified CranioSacral Therapists in the country. CranioSacral is a treatment, described as body psychotherapy, which was introduced here eight years ago and has proved highly successful in helping Vietnam veterans in America.

She is going with the charity Healing Hands Network for the two weeks in September but needs to raise £750 to fund the trip.

Nikki, of Barnards Hill, will be working as a volunteer with victims of the war, especially those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. She will also be working in local clinics, an orphanage and the Centre for Torture Victims.

Nikki said: "I know my therapy is particularly useful to children and people subject to extreme trauma. It developed and grew out of cranial osteopathy. It is light touch around the skull, but it is deeper than just the bones, we focus on bones but also membrane fluid and emotions. We work the mind and the body together."
