CHESHAM Ladies boosted their chances of winning the Southern Region Premier Division, and the Comic Relief coffers as well, with a 22-0 win over Basingstoke last Sunday.

Before the match, the Chesham players pledged £1 to Comic Relief for each goal they scored against bottom side Basingstoke, while generous manager Paul Huntley offered to treble the total.

Chesham's players were all battling for their place in this week's title-decider against second place Launton and as a result they were rarely out of the opposition's half.

Top scorer Julie Ketley notched a first half hat-trick, with Holly Small grabbing her first two goals for the club.

Michelle Humphreys and Lindsay Meeks gave Chesham a comfortable 7-0 lead at the break.

Chesham dominated the second half, Ketley grabbed another five taking her tally to 49 for the season. Gemma Harmycz, Lisa Welling and Dee Cox, returning after injury, hit two each.

Di Killey came off the bench to grab her first two goals in Chesham's colours. Chesham missed two penalties before Meeks and Sian Williams rounded off the scoring.
