A MOTHER has appealed for the return of an eternity ring bearing her daughter's name after thieves snatched it from the family home.

The woman, who lives with her husband in Austenwood Lane, Chalfont St Peter, lost all her jewellery valued at between £6,000 and £7,000 when thieves struck on May 29.

She said: "It is the ring that my husband bought for me when my daughter was born. It is of sentimental value.

"We've never been burgled before and we've lived in this house for 12 years.

"If anyone has got any information or saw anything, let the police know."

The offenders broke into the property by climbing on to the roof and through a window at some time between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Police believe neighbours along the road could well have spotted them and not realised what was going on.

The thieves also made off with two men's gold watches.

Witnesses should call Steve Welford at Amersham police 01494 465888
