THE £3 million for improvements at the Handy Cross junction of the M40, announced by Transport Minister Keith Hill in High Wycombe last month, was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott last week.
The improvement was one of a package of transport improvements for south east England which were welcomed by chairman of the South East England Regional Assembly, High Wycombe councillor David Shakespeare.
He described the south east as powerhouse of the national economy, but said congestion was spoiling its transport networks.
