CLLR Clare Martens's recent letter about keeping the pound or returning to the groat is completely disingenuous and typical of the politicians of the Lib-Lab-Con trick.
The reason that the vast majority of the UK population do not want to lose the pound is not to do with the name of our currency but rather that losing the pound means we, the United Kingdom, will lose control of our economy, independence and country.
Call our currency what you like, it is our currency.
Replace it with the euro and we are not masters in our own house any more. It is that simple.
