I WOULD like to express my thanks to all the residents of West Wycombe and Sands ward who cast their vote for me at the recent county council elections. They played their part in our democratic process along with the voters supporting my rivals.

The new county council will have many problems to resolve over the next four years, of which education is probably the most urgent.

The Government has announced that education will continue to have more resources made available. Your report regarding the dispute between the leader of the council and the education cabinet member does not appear to set the tone for progress in this area.

There is a major crisis looming in the schools regarding the retention and recruiting of teachers.

The slogan of the Conservatives at the election was to Save our Grammar Schools. It is more important for the county council to Save our Schools.

The future education of all our pupils must be a top priority. Every pupil, every teacher, every school matters.

Petty arguments between Cabinet ministers hardly seems the way forward. The Conservatives have won a new mandate. They must not let the children of this county down.
