ORGANISERS are hoping the success of last year's Millennium events will continue.
Chinnor Parish Council held a series of activities over the August bank holiday weekend last year which were so successful they are going for a repeat performance.
Lyn Mumford, chairman of the council, said: "It was such a success last year, everyone said, 'Let's hope we can do it again,' so we thought we would put it on again."
She said: "We've increased the activities this year and I hope it will be as successful."
The series of events kicks off on August 24 with a disco for young people and the young at heart. The disco takes place on the playing fields in Station Road in a marquee the parish council has hired for the weekend.
The following evening the marquee plays host to the Joe Kelly Big Band Dinner Dance, while there is a combined church service on Sunday at 10.30am.
This is followed by a children's party at 2pm for children up to the age of eight and the Chinnor Flower and Produce Association holding its annual show.
Tickets are available by phoning 01844 353267.
