A DISTRICT employment service has received an award from the Government for Excellence in Public Service.
The Buckinghamshire District Employment Service, based at the High Wycombe Jobcentre in Desborough Road, received the Charter Mark Award last month from Minister of State Ian McCartney MP.
Mr McCartney presented the award to Carol Pratley, the district manager for the Employment Service in Buckinghamshire, and Fay Thom, customer service manager for the Chesham Jobcentre.
Carol said: "It was a tribute to the hard work of all members of staff to achieve this award at the first attempt and shows how much effort we are making to listen to our customers."
Charter Mark assessor Chris Tyrell said: "Users, both jobseekers and employers, show a high level of satisfaction with the quality of service and the helpfulness of staff, contrasting this vividly with the tradition of the old labour exchange."
The Buckinghamshire District Employment Service, which covers all the job centres in the county, including High Wycombe and Chesham, carries out local customer satisfaction surveys twice a year.
