MARLOW Rugby Club romped to a 36-6 South West Two win over Olney, which proved a fitting tribute to Paul Sharp, who was making his 250th appearance for the first team.

Sharp, who plays in the front row, turned out with a much changed side from the previous week because of unavailability. Jaksa Lovreta moved across the back row to number eight, Mike Lunjevich took over at fly-half and Al Smith came in at lock forward.

Marlow went ahead after just four minutes when Lunjevich finished off a move Lovreta started to score the first of his three tries of the afternoon.

Ewen Hunter knocked over the conversion to put Marlow into a seven-point lead but a further score looked increasingly unlikely as Olney pulled themselves back into the game.

An exchange of penalties on the half hour made it 10-3 and that's the way it stayed until after the break.

Then, Marlow's back row came into their own with Dave King, Ladia Vondrasek and Lovreta combining well to set up Hunter's touchdown close to the posts.

Al Leithead then sold the Olney defence a dummy to set up Lunjevich for his second try.

Further tries, again, from Lunjevich and Sid Halley saw Marlow put the points on in difficult conditions.
