FORMER Olympic long-distance runner Steve Cram is helping 13 people in Bucks to train for the London Marathon.
The team of runners has bagged one of UK's greatest athletes because they are running for the charity Macmillan Cancer Relief, of which Steve Cram is Team Macmillan patron.
As members of the Macmillan team, the runners will be receiving plenty of advice on training and running tips for the big day on April 22.
And funds raised by the runners will go towards Macmillan Cancer Relief in Buckinghamshire.
Linda Wells, spokesman for the charity, said: "In Bucks the need for continual fundraising is vital if we are to sustain the level of services we currently give to cancer patients and their families."
Those running include: Andrew Halton, of Marlow; Richard Jones, of Princes Risborough; David Freeman, of High Wycombe; and Tony Hubbard, of Chalfont St Giles.
Also taking part in the annual event are Gail Macro, of Tylers Green, High Wycombe; Sarah Richardson, of Wooburn Green; and Toby Shaw, of Widmer End, High Wycombe.
