CHESHAM United Football Club plan to have a couple of new faces on show, including a former professional who played in the American pro league, for Saturday's prestige friendly at home to Vauxhall Conference strugglers Hayes.

Manager Bob Dowie has been in transatlantic talks with the former Leyton Orient defender who has been playing in America since packing his bags at Brisbane Road.

He is expected to play against Hayes tomorrow alongside a couple of other triallists at The Meadow (ko 3pm).

Dowie is also tracking a Slough Town centre half and depending on how talks go he could also get a run-out tomorrow.

He said: "I feel I still need to beef us up down the middle a little bit."

Last week, United hammered Carshalton 4-0 to do the double over the struggling Surrey side with a debut goal from James Pinnock who has signed on-loan from Nationwide first division outfit Gillingham.

Pinnock opened his and Chesham's account in the 55th minute and there was no stopping The Generals after that.

Martin Fox added a second seven minutes later before Mark Watson made it three with ten minutes of the clash remaining.

That was enough time for Terrry Bowes to score a fourth with the goal of the game after running half the length of the pitch.

Chesham are now up to sixth in the Premier League with this result but on the down-side there were bookings for Ernie Cooksey, Victor Renner and Fox.

On Thursday, United were due to try for the third time to play their Full Members Cup tie against Braintree.

But they will have to do it without Meadow favourite Youness Nabil who has returned to first division promotion chasers Boreham Wood after an unhappy second spell at The Meadow.

The Chesham player left after being unable to secure a first team place in Dowie's regime.
