CHARITABLE groups, companies and people throughout Bucks have helped a cancer charity to raise £260,000.
The cash for Macmillan Cancer Relief will be used to fund two extra Macmillan nurse posts at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
This brings the number of Macmillan nurses in the county to 20 and the team at the charity's office in Wendover have thanked everyone who has contributed towards the Bucks Nurse Appeal.
A spokesman for the charity said: "The additional nurses, a chemotherapy nurse and hospital support nurse, are both clinical and nurse specialists and they will provide practical support for cancer patients and their families from the point of diagnosis."
The Buckinghamshire Nurse Appeal committee was chaired by Wendover business man Charles Chaney, who spearheaded the fundraising.
