Thame United Football Club got their first division promotion challenge back on track with a convicting 3-1 victory over Romford at Windmill Road on Saturday.

Andy Sinnott's side boss the match from the start with Greg Wiliams going close after five minutes and captain Martin Brown hitting the bar just three minutes later.

Thame took the lead after 22 minutes. Rob Smith's throw was headed on by Jefferson Louis to Nando Perna, who found Williams who finished it off with a left-foot volley from 16 yards.

Five minutes later Thame increased their lead when a cross from Smith on the right was headed home by Louis from ten yards.

Two minutes later Louis bagged his second - a long ball from Brown beat the visitor's defence and Louis lifted the ball over the advancing Stuart Horne.

It could have been four if Williams had better controlled his header, from Perna's cross.

But instead it was Romford who scored next when Steve Good fired home from the edge of the box in the visitor's, to convert the visitors only shot on target.
