PENSIONERS who call themselves 'recycled teenagers' have had to stop rocking and rolling after heartless thieves stole their stereo.
Residents at the sheltered housing scheme Waiting for God, in Parsonage Close, High Wycombe, have been left devastated by the theft.
Marilyn Ramsey, warden of the scheme, said: "The enjoyment they get from the music centre is a great asset to their lives."
The music centre was stolen sometime between January 19 and 6pm on January 20 while the warden was away for the weekend. There is now an empty space in the residents' community room where the stereo provided them with hours of party music and fun.
The residents have a strong message for the culprits.
They said: "If you are reading this and are the rotten person who did this, we hope you enjoy our music centre which was donated by friends. You will not beat us. We will once again fund raise to eventually be able to purchase another one."
If anyone has any information call police on (01494) 465888. If you can help with a replacement stereo contact Kelly Clayton on (01494) 755087
